I would use the experience to pump up your resume for that next level job in the future. Training is definitely an important skill set to have.

As long as it’s not an expectation, and you aren’t taking on too much work by doing it, keep doing it. It will not only bolster your resume, but it’ll look great when you go for a raise and/or promotion there
Why do you feel like it’s holding you back? Unless it is getting in the way of other work, and then it seems like you aren’t accomplishing as much. Extra skill, even if not officially your job, looks great.
If leadership sees it and values it, it can work in your favor. If they don't, you're just doing extra work for free.

That’s a valid concern. Stepping up like that shows leadership, but if it’s not being recognized or leading to growth, it can definitely stall you. Helping is great—just make sure it’s also opening doors for you, not quietly adding unpaid responsibility.
