People keep mentioning that they like wfh or don’t like wfh and debating whether it should be permanent or not, and the whole time all I can think about is how I’ve spent way too much money on suits and other work clothes to end up never using them again 🙄😭
I will have to go in person next month and am still nursing my 13 month old. Given WFH and nanny I see her often and still nurse 2 times during the work day. I am dreading leaving her but also looking forward to getting out of the house. I’m so conflicted. Any words of advice appreciated.
What are some good at home date night ideas? Our anniversary is coming up and though we try to keep date night interesting by having new experiences (cooking class, workshop, trip, etc) we have been so busy with work during WFH date nights have gone out the window. Definitely want to make an effort for our anniversary and looking for ideas. Thanks ladies!!
REMOTE SPANISH TRANSLATORS NEEDED Stony Brook Hospital on Long Island is currently in dire need of bilingual people who can help translate between medical staff and patients/families. (Cont)
Is it unreasonable to ask a new job to include language in offer letter regarding hybrid work? I want a guarantee that I can be remote at least 3x/week. Scared that they’re just saying it’s fine for now and will likely continue, and then boom one day management will decide 5x/week on-site required.
What are some of the “unproductive” things you’ve been doing during WFH? For me, whenever I have 30-45 minutes in between meetings and nothing urgent to get done, I’ll play a quick game of 2K.
To those in a state that’s opened up - whos companies are putting the pressure on employees to come back this week? My company seems very adamant about getting everyone back in the office but friends I’ve talked to are still WFH for at least the rest of the month.. This on top of reducing our salaries and doing away with summer hours is starting to get at me I’m not gonna lie...
New manager in tax here. This 10/15 has been challenging, with constant fire drills on different days. I know WFH has been difficult for everyone, so not trying to complain. I’m really surprised/disappointed that from March to date, not a single partner in my practice has ever said a word to address the fact that people are burnt out, or said a thank you to the team. One partner encouraged people to take on more work for the “learning opportunity”, another urged people to make her life easier...
How would I go about getting an adderall script? I was diagnosed with ADHD in the 2nd grade however my parents took me off the pills due to weight loss and change in mood. Recently since WFH I’ve been feeling a surge in distraction and inability to focus at tasks at hand. Through friends of friends, I’ve had Adderall a few times and I’ve felt the focus I need to get through my work. I would be interested in obtaining a script; anyone here in NYC know of doctors that could diagnose/prescribe me?
Anyone aware of any job hunt website or recruiter where it's easier to find full remote (like international remote) tech jobs? Those were rare to find but I am hoping the pandemic might have prompted more employers to offer these.
Has anyone gotten a medical accommodation to remain WFH while offices are starting to open back up? If so, what type of conditions count?
First time posting on here, just wanted to say hi. I wish it was under better circumstances but need some advice. I’m 25 and am currently on FLMA due to my mom being placed in hospice care from cervical cancer. I work for a smaller company and was told working part time or remote was not an option for me during this time and just sent FMLA papers without any conversation. That being said, at what point do you draw the line with a company treating you horribly?
Any firms out there willing to hire seniors for remote work? I live in an area that has no big four, large national or regional firms. The closest is three hours from my location.
I work at a bigger agency with a generous work from home policy. Problem is, my manager “doesn’t believe” in working from home. How can I change their mind?
All those heading to b school in the fall. Any idea what things will look like bc of COVID? Not sure I want to shell out money for a remote online class year...
Recently finished a simple assignment that took forever because my cd and I weren’t aligned. He had me stray from the brief and now part if it is inconsistent with the greater piece. I just feel we’re not on the same wavelength. Which I hate because I live for collaboration and being a team player. And I joined this team at the beginning of the Covid WFH orders in March so I’ve only met him like once before. So not a tight relationship. I gotta talk to him about it. Any advice?
Started a gig a few weeks ago through a staffing firm & it’s going really well but the hours have been less than 30 per week w/ the expectation that it was full time. Also not getting a head’s up on my contract renewal. I recognize that these days I should take what I can get but how do I assert my need to have predictable hours while being diplomatic to the fact that these times are unprecedented & remote work is different?
What are some good 15-20-30 min workouts I can do during the day that won’t make me sweaty? I want to take advantage of WFH in athleisure in the middle of the day, but don’t have time to get sweaty and then have to shower. I already do sweaty workouts in the morning but looking for something to supplement.
Hoping to get some perspective - my cousin had a baby in February and because of Covid I have only gotten to see her and the baby from a distance once since he was born. I work from home and am fairly good about social distancing. Her sister and brother in law both work in schools, have been around hundreds of people, and still attend gatherings like weddings and birthdays but are allowed to see and hold the baby whenever the please. Said this before but I have to say again: Thank you so much for laying me off PwC! I couldn't be happier with my new job ❤️🙏🏻
Gave my notice last week and it’s like everyone is in denial. Just sleep on it, decide tomorrow, wait until next week, etc. Also some guilt tripping in there and my MD talked poorly about the firm I’m moving to and said because I’m a mom I might struggle there. I can’t believe it. I’ve already made up my mind.

Relationship advice - met this girl I actually like. First girl in five years I'd consider dating. Except. She won't. Ever. Leave.
I am an associate, 1.5 years into the firm and currently sit as a high performer up for promotion. I am planning to leave for a 1 year presitigious program to explore / potentially pursue medicine that I really would love to do but it is scary to leave my consultant job. What would you do?

For anyone that got turned down by BCG after interview rounds recently, do you know why you were turned down (any feedback youre willing to share)? Understand it might be a sensitive topic, but hoping to prep as much as I can. Thanks in advance!
Any recommendations for a moderately priced men's watch brand? $300-500 price range. I know this isn't "moderately priced" for a lot of you but I'm just starting out.
