I love my work. I love my job. However, the company culture has gone downhill in the past year or so (I've been here 3.5 years). Loads of people are quitting. I've heard loads more will be quitting after bonuses in March.

I'm 6 months pregnant with my third. I also stayed just under 2 years at my last three jobs, so I need longevity to build my resume. (I've been promoted once here and would like another before I leave.)

If everyone's running tho, should I be interviewing too??? Just in case?

Without knowing which firm it’s impossible to say, but turnover is pretty common in consulting. Interview to have options but I wouldn’t run for the hills because a number of people are leaving post-bonuses, especially if you like what you do. Theoretically the firm still needs people to function if they’re selling any work.

Maybe I can interview while I'm on maternity leave and see what shows up?

The last two jobs I had I left the sinking ship because I was kinda already done and had no regrets. This one is looking like a sinking ship but I don't want to leave? Maybe that's really my question, am I overlooking something if so many people are trying to leave and I don't want to (yet)?

No, take your maternity leave and don't stress about it until you're back. If people are leaving, your experience will be more valuable. Maybe you can even get a promotion and raise out of it.

Hey all! Interviewing and need some insights about accepting a non-tech product marketing job. I currently work in SaaS but was offered a higher paying job in educational publishing. It’s a non-tech product marketing role. I want to take the job but I don’t know if moving out of tech would be a bad move for a product marketer? Would it be harder to pivot back to tech?

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬
