Let it go. You’re fine. We all make mistakes and the worst thing is that you’re fixating on it. We imagine more in our heads than really exists, so share it off and know that tomorrow is a fresh new day!

Feeling better today, I hope? 😃

Oh gosh please don’t worry! I somehow made my email signature an OOO response for like two hours in my first day. What the HELL 🤣 You’ve just gotta find your footing.

I’d say you get a good three to four months before mistakes start becoming a problem at a new job. I expect new people to make mistakes, it is part of learning, IMO. Also, part of the responsibility of the person you are working for to make sure you have proper training.

You get a big pass on this, it’s your first day! Don’t think about it for one more second.

For those in big 4, how much time between accepting an offer and start date have you been able to ask for? Is a month feasible/how should one phrase it? Two weeks just doesn’t feel like enough with this heavy burnout/having to wrap up deals at old firm

on the way to an interview this morning eating a sandwich. I walked past a homeless man who had a stray cat perched on his lap. He asked for a bite of sandwich to feed them both as they hadn’t eaten in days. I gave the whole sandwich over and headed off to the interview. As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat. Truly inspirational when you work hard

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India
