I work with quite a few oldheads in my department, I’d like to know how to convince the higher-ups that we need to evolve our strategies to bring us in line with best current practices. Im interviewing for an internal promotion at my current employer. I’ve previously expressed a lot of interest in this specific role and it’s well known throughout my division my interest. One of the biggest resume mistakes I see is focusing solely on job duties. Yes, you should include relevant responsibilities, but you should frame them in a way that highlights your skills. And include achievements wherever possible. Quantify them if you can. A good way to frame them is "Achieved X by doing Y."
