I need help. I’m back at work after a full 5 days off, and already I’m exhausted and stressed out. Luckily, tomorrow is Friday. But I want to know: what are some quick (because there’s so much work I need to do!) ways to de stress and cope at work? Thanks!

Sales can burn you out fast. Try some mini breaks within your workday even 5 minutes just to detach yourself from the job. Could be a quick walk or even a doom scroll. And when it's time to work, I batch similar tasks to get in the zone and knock stuff out faster. Friday is coming!

After a long break, I always block my first day back. Gives you some time to properly catch up before getting bombarded with meetings and new projects. Also, block random "days off" where you block your calendar but use the day to catch up on projects. I do this like once a month and it has been helpful. I'm still stressed AF, but ... progress over perfection.

This is so smart

One thing that helps when you return to a mountain of work is to determine how to break up the work into manageable pieces. Prioritize what needs to be dealt with ASAP down to what can slide for a while. And then just get moving through it. I may be an outlier, but for me the best way to handle stress is to just come up with a plan and get working on it. Once I break the ice and start getting things done I feel much better.

I'm a big believer in walks, natural light, hydration and deep breathing. If I'm starting to feel panicky, I'll take a 10 min walk around the building and that totally helps reset my focus and stress levels. Especially if I can see the sun outside

This is scientifically proven.

Online shopping is the... wrong answer, right? Lol. For me, I just scroll on tiktok for a little bit. My FYP is full of motivational speakers, CleanTok, and other things that reinvigorate my energy. It doesn't work all the time, but it usually does :)

Hey, I’m embarrassed to ask, but what does FYP mean?

I’m so grumpy about new campus hires. Sometimes I’m judgmental (your hobby is “working on your golf swing,” really?). Sometimes I’m just exhausted by the worried earnestness. Sometimes I’m amazed that they seem to have zero useful skills, yet they’ll be making 150k easily in the not too distant future.

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I’m new in the job (3 months in). Should I explain anything about my adhd to my manager or just wait for them to notice the change in me?
