I didn’t follow any dietitian but I lost 10 lbs in 80 days.
I was not overweight , but lost weight due to diet changes for high cholesterol. Along with weight my cholesterol also came down by almost 50 percent.
This is what I did
Breakfast: poha , masala dosa made from brown rice and chick peas batter , omelette with eziekiel bread - all these dishes with apple and banana smoothie with fat free milk.
Snack - fruits
Lunch - Salad only (6 days)
Snack - bowl of dry fruits
Dinner latest by 6:30 - sabji and 2 roti
Weekends I do eat sabji roti in lunch too.
We use extra virgin olive oil in very little quantity for cooking, stopped eating added sugar in any form, stopped eat ghee and butter,
we use fat free dahi for raita, always eat brown rice.
I did eat chipotle and panera sandwich few times.
All this along with 3 -4 hours of cardio in a week , either played some sports or 20 min cardio from some random YouTube video.
Can people just post here lol also interested in a nutritionist that knows Indian food

I would like to get recommendations too. I previously saw a regular dietitian and I did lose the weight. But it was very restrictive and didn’t include a lot of Indian food such as dals and roti and was very meat heavy. Once I introduced those foods again, I gained alll the weight and then some. I am hoping someone with experience with Indian foods can create a more sustainable diet plan.

I came down from 183lb to 158lb in one year. No nutritionist or anything. But I cut down my meals - basically giving my body a chance to miss food. Most days I eat 1.5 meals (dinner and one fruit during the day). And walk 4.5 miles with my dog.
No other restrictions as such. Don't drink much
I started using FITTR - a desi training app - from last year. You get customized workout plans, and very practical diets too. Enjoying it so far.
