First of all, take a breath and revert to your confidence- there is a reason you’ve gotten to where you are. Try to be mindful of the “snowball effect”- where one small mistake shakes you a little which leads to another and another and so on- it seems silly but it’s very real.
Also, take time to really assess your firm and your future there. If they are not mentoring, then they are simply not holding up their end of the bargain as far as developing you as an attorney. Think if this is somewhere you really want to be. I was at a similar firm, lacked proper training and I just felt as if I was falling behind where I should be. I worked with a recruiter specializing with IP attorneys-which was actually really nice to work with someone who actually gets us IP folks and isn’t pandering to the corporate attorneys- and ended up in a much better place. It’s made a world of difference!
is it possible to gently ask for some training time. Maybe not use the word training. But a specific thing you need help on. Ask for that specific help. The person don't know they are training but before you know it the training has started. Even if its 10 minutes randomly!
