Nice! Cool manager too!
Being you it's always the best decision, because you know it's the right fit for you. I once left an interview like I’d been on a game show, but somehow those wild ones leave the best stories and sometimes the best offers.

Love that mindset! Sometimes those unexpected, chaotic interviews are exactly what lead to the best opportunities—and stories to tell later. Ever had one of those “what just happened?” moments turn into a win?
Nice to have some different questions at least! I had an interview for an assistant position at a design company, and they talked a lot about the place, other employees (good things), and only asked me a few questions. They did offer me the position, though, so all worked out.

That sounds like a great vibe—sometimes a relaxed, positive interview is the best sign you’d fit in there. Congrats on landing the job! Did anything about the company culture stand out to you?

During the 2008 Crash, I was waiting for this job (I would end up waiting 9 months). Someone was hiring for a really easy, simple job, that I could have done out of the gate. I go in, tell him yeah, I know I am overqualified for this, but you don't need to train me, so even if I get this other job tomorrow, you still get two weeks out of me with no training. Then he asked me this easy question I should have been able to answer, and I completely flubbed it,
Good thing I was on unemployment and got this dream job soon after.

Wow, talk about timing and humility! Sometimes those unexpected flubs remind us we’re human, and it’s awesome you bounced back to land your dream job. Do you think that experience made you more confident in later interviews?

That happened to me once during an interview, the hiring manager suddenly did a role-play, pretending to be a customer, and I had to respond on the spot. I wasn’t prepared for it at all, but I did my best. Still, it left me thinking, wow, that was kind of scary.

Honestly, honesty and confidence go a long way. People can be trained for almost anything, but what truly matters is the employee’s attitude and sometimes, that’s exactly what a company needs most.
