Thoughts on Barça vs Bayern?
I see several posts from people asking how they can help during these times with a few extra $$$ to spend. Here is just one of many ideas.
www.stepuptothetable.com
#stepuptothetable is about helping local restaurants who are struggling during these times. I have seen numerous linkedin posts with videos where people challenge each other to step up to the table & buy meals & gift cards from their community restaurants. A great way for those of us who are more fortunate to support business & keep people employed.
A for effort?

I volunteered to come on-site three times a week. I have a 30-minute commute just to show up to an empty office where I use Zoom to talk to all my colleagues.
Hybrid is pointless unless it’s all synced to the same days. Otherwise it should be all remote because 90% of people would rather work from home.
Conversation Starter
The fact that there's still people out there who, after having their whole company remote for over a year, have begun acting like it can't work and sending everyone back in office full time. My boss doesn't even believe in WFH fridays but when we're in office, he's tied up in zoom meetings from 8-5 and never talks to anyone in the office.
Same. Especially if they want us to wear masks at your desks In the cubicle pits. My skin needs a break every now and then lmao.
Rising Star
Lol I haven’t worn a mask since like last June

Based on the amount of traffic I see remote is not as popular as people on FB seem to believe. At this point my company has made hybrid the default policy and it is working well for us. We can take off our masks at our desks because we are spread out and all vaccinated, but due to local government mandate we have masks on if we walk around inside the office.
My mom has been “hybrid” at GM for the last 10 years or so. With Fridays always being WFH.
Maybe now this will shift the group to Fridays and Thursdays WFH once they’re back in the office lol
Ha- ya I have the hot take that the f150 and the Silverado are basically the same vehicle that haven’t innovated much over the last decade.
That usually ruffles some feathers at Ford and family. People know me as a Tesla fan boy 🤷♂️
But for real— has anyone else been in a situation where your family works at competing companies??? Straight up felt like I was doing corporate espionage talking to my family sometimes. WFH really made this even worse. We both were literally listening to one another internal meetings hahaha. My parents are 8/7 levels at GM and I was in Ford’s IT org In their rotational program.
And then I also my hand slapped by my boss for taking more to my neighbor who was an investment banker when i was WFH. Learned a lot about “insider trading”, and I’m still very confused by what is and isn’t insider trading. Also don’t know what is “confidential” “proprietary” or “secret”. Ford likes to label everything and upload it to sharepoint with one of those tags.
Why pray for it? Are you hoping for an outcome for your fellow working class human beings? If for yourself, this is something you can control for the most part: find and work for a company that is doing hybrid. Plenty of companies doing fully remote or hybrid.
When you say “plenty of companies doing hybrid”, do you have a list of these companies?
To me it feels like we’re in this power grabbing time between workers and company leaders that prioritize efficiency because of the board-members shouting at them to be profitable.
Which leads to managers wanting workers back in the office but not all workers wanting it. Hybrid to me seem to be very ambiguous from company to company. ESPECIALLY manufacturing companies. Cuz I’m sorry, but how can u manufacture something physical whilst working in your house?
At ford the in person workers at the plants kinda despise the people working from home in my experience at a plant. We understand why they are there — for safety reasons, but it didn’t feel fair to be waking up at 5:30am for a year while I know I had colleagues sleeping in and barely touching their car.
I started off in Dearborn pre pandemic working in that office commuting every day and everything was ‘fair’ for all the workers cause we all had to commute to our jobs then pandemic hit and I was WFH for 9 months. Next fiscal year (2020) i was assigned to work in a plant and I got paid the same as when I was wfh for 9 months during the pandemic. Then I have colleagues who i also imagine were getting paid the same as me in the rotational programs — who weren’t assigned in-person roles like me — to sit and wfh. Was some serious BS. I wanted to go back to wfh and when I asked for that or more pay I got fired.
