When is WFH ending ?
Hi Guys,
I have joined Ofss 1 week back and on second day itself I was allocated to project and onboarding WIP I received mail stating to report back to office 3 days per week under hybrid work model policy. Is this compulsory my base location is 2600 km from my current location as I am joining the citi project its seems difficult for me to grasp things though I have only 1 yr of prior exp by I think my team is expecting a lot so moving to new city and learning at same time is not possible .
Hi All,
I have few questions hope someone can help me through them:
1. My joining date for PWC SDC is 6th June, by when i can expect my laptop and welcome kit?
2. Do PWC allow us to use their work on our personal mobile phone or iPad?
3. After joining when i can avail WFH allowances and mobile purchase allowances?Pwc AC

Until there is a legitimate vaccine just keep saying you don’t feel safe. Besides that I think teams will be more flexible about remote work since we did it 100%. You won’t get what you don’t ask for. Good luck!
I appreciate it! I’m hoping to have this convo post-vaccine, so hopefully I can nail down some good points to make by then.
Honestly if you’re not returning til Q2 2021 at the earliest I would wait til Q1 for the conversation. In the meantime, kick ass at working remotely
Agreed with BC1. If you start talking about reopening I would bring up working from home then - and honestly I would start with 1-2 days a week and try to compromise at 3. I think most companies will be more flexible about where their employees are in the future.

Honestly an hour each way for a commute is not that crazy and many people did that every day before WFH happened. I doubt your company would be that sympathetic

After a year proving you can deliver while WFH, you may find the company prefers you to continue WFH some days.
Have to determine if people now meeting virtually will want to continue that when some or most are on the office.
You may find with LA traffic many are looking to do the same. Perhaps come next April you will see the company suggesting exactly what you want.
Any details on points I should make to help my case would be much appreciated! Since we won’t come back to the office til Q2 FY21 at the earliest, I won’t have to have this convo for another year but I just want to be well-prepared for it.

Can you move closer?

Possible too that commute times may not be what they were like before. Being that practically the entire country figured out how to work from home these last 5 months, there may be a whole lot of people not on the freeways in LA anymore. You never know 🤷🏼♂️
Honestly just tell them you aren’t comfortable coming back to the office yet. No one is going to force you.
I’m in a similar situation, OP. Before pandemic: commuting 2 hours each way. I’ve been wfh 100% since March, so I’m hoping we go to a more hybrid model after the pandemic is over. I’m confident many companies will though :)

You might be ready to leave the job before you go back to the office, who knows. Worry about it next year.
I won’t go back to my office for a bit, but I live close to 70 miles away one way and I am definitely asking to work remotely more often. I could once a week before, but now I want every other week or something.
Sounds like my commute. If WFH is not part of your companies culture don’t ask for it. However if people do WFH then bring it up. My case was interesting WFH was only based on a popularity contest. They made a big deal out of it. But at the end of the day we are all remote until next year.
EY 1, we’re going to shift to a more remote future, I’m almost positive. I think executives know productivity will take a huge nose dive if people are back in the office 5x a week
This should definitely be a consideration if your company is trying to continue engaging flexible work with its employees.
Thanks everyone for the insight! Follow up q, should I do the commute 5x a week first for a few months and THEN ask for a 3x/week in-office? Or should I just ask for a 3x in-office right when we come back?

This is months from now. Bring it up when they announce their opening policy and dates.
