I recently accepted an upward offer and moved from Accenture to a higher position in a direct competitor. Before the move, I was being reached out by recruiters on a weekly basis (consulting, industry, PE, etc). I noticed that right after the move, I stopped receiving Linkedin messages from recruiters. Is it normal?

People who have just changed firm are unlikely to want to move again immediately. So no point for recruiters to contact you for a while

That makes totally sense

You just moved, why would recruiters reach out now? Common sense please.

Congrats. Getting chased when firms are cutting is a testament to your value. Keep hustling

You hit it big. At that post it’s a lateral, not an advance. Less incentive to chase you.
But - congrats!

If you updated LI with your new role that triggers a priority position for recruiters. You most likely moved to the bottom of their automated list. Congrats on the new role!

I hear a lot about cash flow with rental properties but would appreciate thoughts on whether breaking even after accounting for mortgage (interest and insurance included) as well as % set aside for repairs, vacancy, etc. is a decent strategy for building a portfolio. Alternative is wait for rates to come down, but that could easily be a few years at this point. If I find a good deal, I can always refinance my mortgage when rates drop and theoretically rental income will have increased by then.

I was discussing my recent job search with some friends and we got into a small debate. I stand firm on not wasting my time applying for a job that doesn't post the salary with the job description, anyone else do this? I feel like anytime I have interviewed for a job that didn't post the salary, they end up lowballing me during the offer phase.
