Isn’t it illegal for managers to keep tips from their employees? I know they have some leeway to distribute tips among the staff, but they’re not allowed to keep tips for themselves or as a mode profit.

It definitely is not nice. You are giving your 100% to the job and if you are unhappy looking at your paycheck, it is not worth.
A part-time restaurant job in high school was awful. We also didn’t get to keep our tips and missed so many paydays because business was slow. I was fortunately able to quit shortly after graduating high school.

You can not stay very long for these types jobs if it is not paying you enough. I am glad I was able to quit that job too.
