Starting salary not that much better than pa plus they get capped pretty low
Engineer starting salaries are much higher... up to 6 figures depending on the specialty. But they do get capones much quicker
Probably not worth feeling the career path remorse if you're in another LOB. Engineering is a hobbyists profession in my view. The competition and sacrifice involved to sustain a long term career is comparable to lawyers/bankers with much less monetary rewards. There's the lack of social life aspect that most non-eng people don't hear about.

^agreed, That description sounds identical to PA, except we need a CPA and 150 credits(usually a masters) while engineers don't really need a masters

They don't need a masters but their course material is much much harder than accounting degrees
