Find a new job? Nothing is ever worth your health declining :/
Just be honest and speak up about too much work and try to get some help
Quit before you drop dead ... This isn't sustainable
Yeah I just keep repeating what a "great growth opportunity it is"
You need to gain some emotional distance from the work. Recognize that this work is not life or death and that the world goes on whether it gets finished on time or not. Recognize that everyone is replaceable and that if you don't finish or are not there, someone else can and will do it. Recognize that you are human and you can give only a finite amount each day. Stop defining your self worth and identity with your success at work. Life is bigger and if you pay attention people still get ahead that don't kill themselves. If you internalize these things and can stop thinking about work and focus on yourself for at least a few hours each day, it gets a lot easier. The managers job is to handle the stress and be a calming influence on the team. If you can be calm in the face of stress you will be exceptional. Good luck!
Serious suggestion: work out. I force myself to do it. Clears my head and makes me sleep better. I know you are thinking, "if I had time to workout, I wouldn't be so stressed to begin with". Maybe that is true, but forcing the gym time in helps hormonally so much.
Get on an antidepressant in the mean time and try to meditate even for 5 minutes a day. I have major panic attacks too, but I'm staying in he trenches for the time being. At your level you should be able to find a better situation elsewhere If hr doesn't help you out.
I am in the same boat... (except for the high blood pressure). I used to never exercise, but I have major stress eating issue, so took up exercise to at least 30 minutes each day, and then take one sleep pill before bed to help relax. I notice I don't dream about doing work that I am really behind on this way, so am less stressed out when I wake up feeling I worked really hard in my dream for nothing.
I had a stressed out buddy who would pop an ambien and see how many beers he could chug before passing out. Probably not a safe option. But that is how he dealt with it.
'Get on an antidepressant' is the worst piece of advice. If you can't handle it you shouldn't be doing it and you should be doing something different
Work out in the morning and read in bed to fall asleep.
Talk to someone. Work out (even though it cuts into work time - it does so much to clear your head and reduce stress!). And take the suggestion about antidepressants / anti anxiety meds seriously. It may take a few weeks to kick in but it'll help.
Anti depressants take weeks to start working.Get a sleeping tablet so you can rest. For the high blood pressure try dietary changes, 140/90 means you may need to get some meds. And the best cure- exercise
List out your tasks and determine what u can and can't do. Then put your hand up and say that you are overloaded and need to offload some of these tasks. There has to be people with some availability to pitch in and help.
Get on a new project. I have all the same right now but found a way oit
Speak up.
Say no. Or start delegating the senior work down to someone else. If you want to get promoted you have to figure out how to handle a larger workload without going crazy.
