I think I’m experiencing imposter syndrome. No matter how successful I am, I constantly feel inadequate for my role. I feel like I keep making little mistakes that I should have learned past years ago. How do you beat this? When will I ever feel like I’m doing enough?

When I reached 33, I kind of had a lightbulb moment when I realized that literally everybody is walking around with massive levels of imposter syndrome. The entry-level intern, the C-suite executives, the CEO. Everybody is just googling stuff and figuring it out and trying things and failing occasionally. Nobody knows what they're doing, we're all just pretending to. One of my favorite quotes is, "we're all living for the first time" and it's just a reminder that nobody really has it figured out.

Everyone is pretending to know what is going on. However, I do feel like I don’t want to be too clueless in a position - so I picked a level that I feel relatively comfortable with and am exploring areas I want to grow in with the understanding that I will never know it all

I think all the time, who let me in here to do this? Why am I in charge of people?? It’s good to be humble and try to improve yourself, but you should have some confidence, because you are your own worst critic. I have a list of wins when I need a little boost.

I used to feel that way a lot as well. I finally had to start shaking off those thoughts and hyping myself up. The more I told myself I was good at my job, the more I believed it. It sounds silly but it actually works.

I closed on a new build a few weeks ago and now the same home is available for much less with the builder offering all appliances, additional credits, and buy down of the rate. Is there anything I can do to get now? It seems unfair that I paid more and didn't get the incentives.

Would love to hear from anyone who started in recruiting then transitioned into another area of HR. Have been thinking of either working on PHR certification or MBA with focus in HR mgt. Thanks!
