AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

I've been hearing more and more about people volunteering with local NGOs or local small businesses to do volunteer work and get experience so they have something to put on their resumes. Might be worth considering if you're not landing internship / freelance type stuff either.
Thank you
What type of IT work do you do?
Telecom: managing/troubleshooting layer 1 and 2 (mostly), and a little bit of layer 3 issues with switches and routers.
I would suggest looking for entry level roles in call centers and trying to get a referral if you can as that can help you get your foot in the door. That was how I got started. I had no experience but I got a referral and started overnights in a call center.
Thank you
Find tech adjacent industries —everyone uses tech / IT and has an IT department of some sort.

I have 10 years in casher work and 10years I'm home health care work
There are a few ways to get into IT. Some have been commented on here. The easiest way is to apply for an entry level help desk position with a small to medium sized company. People don't tend to stay in these positions long that have any type of drive. Work on basic certifications and usually companies will reimburse the cost of the tests. Get a feel for different roles in IT while doing help desk. You will usually work with these teams and find what interests you the most and apply internally
I cannot speak since I’m not in the IT department per se. However, I want to add that over the years, I’ve gained a plethora of experience with computer hardware equipment just for work at an ISP.
I started as a cable technician where it exposed me to working modems, routers, switches, UTP cabling, coax cabling, fiber cabling.
Later, the experience progresses into a technical support role. And, potentially into network deployment where you build switching racks and wire them all up together.
The experiences I’ve accumulated doing such work attracted offers to work as a data center technician working with server equipment in addition to what I’ve already done.
And, honestly as I’ve progressed I can see that if I continue working with the ISP where I have access to expensive networking hardware that can act as my learning lab, and further education through certifications….
Landing a job directly under an IT department becomes feasible.
