I wish it was easy to just get another job at another agency, but rejections or silence is all I get, no matter how much care I take to apply. What are you all doing when it feels like there's nothing you can do for career growth in your current place and really need it?

Be real with yourself. Figure out why you are being rejected and work on a solution. When I want growth and advancement, I put together a plan and keep at it until I get to the end goal.

Truthfully, I think it is the job market. I have been applying for 7 months now and still haven't been able to land anything. I think all we can do is keep applying and hoping the job market gets better.

It’s brutal out there, and I’m so sorry. I agree with the above. It’s definitely the job market, but take time to look at your resume and put a plan in place. I also think there’s value to taking a break! Stepping back for a bit to regroup and refocus what job your actually want next instead of mass applying.

Start building proof outside the job. Freelance, spec work, audits, strategy docs, anything tangible that shows progression even if the role doesn’t.

It’s sounds like you are still working. It may not be a great job, but it’s better than those who are looking and unemployed. Let that POV bring you a little more patience as we all deal with this difficult market.

I agree with everyone saying its the market right now, there's a lot of linkedin stories of people with tons and dozens of years of experience high and dry for 7months straight. There's a lot of worry about growing interest rates, compounding replacement of ai replacement rehiring, or lack of hiring because of ai. Perfect storm for the growing underemployment or unemployment trends since november

Sedona will be much colder, possibly snowing/icy and will be hiking, hot tub, enjoying the scenery focused. San Diego will be beach, enjoying scenery focused. Both Airbnb options look beautiful. Will also have 60 year old grandparents joining

Hi Fishes,

I just received an offer from CTS -16.45LPA

I have cleared 2nd round(managerial) with TCS direct project recruitment and waiting for salary negotiation. I'm confused whether to join TCS now itself (which might be too soon to settle down) or go for CTS for next 2 years. Please suggest me. My priorities are Steady growth, Work life balance, Job security.

Anyone ever switch because of the comp despite how much they love their firm? It’s only been a year for me! I love my firm, but the offer I just received is tempting.
Has been working as consultant for 1 year now (job out of grad school)
Has been interviewing around to keep up with industry and check my technical skill
Recently got two offers that are about 30%-40% than my current base. What did you consider before making the decision? FYI - I love my firm and the culture and my leadership!

I handleda very difficult and convoluted succession for a black family. My client was astute and intelligent. We got along great. His family was difficult. Willfully ignorant.

Part of the succession dealt with clawing back $450,000 in insurance proceeds that a niece fraudulent received from the decedent by making herself the beneficiary on policies. A separate attorney was hired to handle that part before I was hired to handle all other matters, including settling a $500,000 debt with the...
