Who the fuck knows. Everyone interprets the pentagons differently. It’s a horrible system.
^ This is not true. Each level you start over and as a 1st year senior you should be “partially at level” or “at level” in most areas.
Remember the ratings are supposed to be aspirational so you may be doing all good things but may not be considered " Gold" standard
Are you a new senior? That’s how
The pentagon shows progression to the next level (if you’re a first year senior, the expectation would be partial below since you are not ready to be a manager). The comments are where we can show performance (different than saying you have the necessary skills to be a manager today).
That makes no sense.
At level is exactly what I said above. Partially at level wouldn’t make sense unless you were getting partially at next before promotion
You shouldn’t be performing “at level” as a first year senior when you have no experience in the role... this is what was explained to me by a partner during my last 3 CRTs and how our market ranks new associates, seniors, etc. So if an intern performed “at next level” they should automatically be “at level” as an associate? No.
^ pwc3 I got similar comments on this as well.
If you were getting “at next level” as an associate, you should be getting “at level” as a senior
Pwc3 the framework doesn’t change when you move up. The senior framework is the same when you’re an associate and when you’re a senior. If you’re performing at next level as an associate, that means you’re doing everything in the senior framework. Once you get promoted to senior, why would that all of a sudden mean you’re not doing everything at level for the senior framework? It’s simple logic
@PwC 1- Not sure where you’re getting this information but the framework for associates/experienced associates is definitely different than the framework for senior associates. Just because you’re performing “partially at next or at next level” on one engagement according to one manager/director as an associate doesn’t all the sudden mean you’re “at level” when you make senior as you have new responsibilities on that job and new framework considerations, and likely new manager/director rating your work.
I only say this bc I got 11 snapshots as a 2nd year experienced associate with all ratings “partially at next/at next level” which meant I was ready for early promotion (and got it too); however, when I became a senior, I had new responsibilities on the same project and while I still received many “at level” ratings, I had a few “partially at level” ratings whereas the year before those same areas I was rated “at next level”... they explained to me as you start over every time you move up.
Read it again. Obviously the framework for seniors and associates is different. What I said is that the SENIOR framework does not change when you are promoted. It’s the exact same as it was before you were promoted. Ill repeat again: if you were performing at next level as an associate, you don’t magically stop performing at the senior level when you get promoted.
