If anyone here has been both a hiring manager and purely on the HR side, could you share your thoughts on which role you enjoyed more? I'm being offered a hiring manager position in a start-up up but I'm not sure I fully know what I'm signing up for.

I’d say each role has its own perks and challenges. As an HR pro, you get to shape the whole hiring process and think about culture and compliance, but it can feel a bit removed from the day-to-day team dynamics. Being a hiring manager, especially in a startup, means you get super hands-on with picking your team and building relationships from the ground up. It’s more intense and sometimes chaotic, but also really rewarding when you see your hires thrive. If you love being close to the action and driving the team’s growth, the hiring manager role could be a great fit.

I've worked in hiring for a startup and you're basically a one-man show. You have to do all of the onboarding, training, compliance, outreach, interviewing… It's a lot. I'm not sure how many people you'd be working with, but my guess is probably not many. Which can be a little bit isolating.

What does it take to switch into a Sale Engineer role? I started my career in tech consulting and then switched to solutions engineering, but not at all on the Sales side of things. I remember working sales when I was in highschool and I loved the rewarding feeling of landing a customer. I'd love to someday switch back into it, since I find myself loving tech but not really the best at it.

Does consultant specialist come under AVP role in hsbc technology?

Partially venting, and partially asking if this is worth sticking through: I am a junior associate. About a month ago, I made the move to a larger firm. Since day 1, one of the partners has constantly put me on the spot, quizzing me every time he calls, which gave me a lot of anxiety, but I was dealing with it. Up until recently, the same thing happened, and he yelled at me, screamed that he was pissed off, when I didn’t know the answer to one of his questions. Now he doesn’t delegate any work..
