I’m 58 and still working. You’re good!
55 and no plans on going anywhere!
Full time freelance for 10 years now and I just turned 50. I also support my family of 5 on my single income. Being older is where the better gigs are- and you don’t have to deal with petty agency bullshit.
I'm 52 and been freelancing for the past 18 months. Everyone loves the work my partner and I do, but it's hard to find work that lasts more than a few weeks (and I probably don't book more than 5 months a year). If you guys can DM me any agencies that you know bring in a lot of freelancer teams I'd sure appreciate it. We do consumer, and healthcare (mostly conceptual DTC and some HCP)
When are all the ad rags going to publish the 50 over 50 list? It takes 10,000 hours to be an expert in anything. Happy new decade young and old in our business. Support, mentor respect each other. There is room for everyone who wants to make great work. If you are making great work, you will always be valued.
We need a nice big advertising scandal highlighting ageism . An industry who advertises to all age groups but is composed of 20-30 year olds. It’s the money.
Older freelancers with all the experience we have get hired bc we make it easy and painless.
