Bad idea! You'll likely just wind up looking like an older person with dyed hair and it may look odd. Best to just show up as yourself, honest and genuine. As Bob Marley put it, "We are what we are, it's the way it's going to be."
My dad tried this once with hilariously awful results. I don’t think it’s a good idea but if you’re going to do it please get help.
Get it done professionally. Much like makeup and push-up bras, everyone will swear it doesn’t matter nor make a difference… but they do and wear them anyway… because they know a failed first impression is often fatal.
I just got a new job (I’m 55, bald, and overweight). It’s all about showing that you have the energy for the role - don’t focus on the looks.
Agree here have a lot of energy!!
Forget the pics, check their LinkedIn history! People leave decade old pics up all the time. See when they actually graduated college.
Be you! + we love a silver fox
I mean, have you ever dyed it before? Some people can pull it off, others, it ends up just accentuating their age. I would just encourage you to go in with confidence and your natural hair color.
Do you. You don't need to change yourself for anyone for fear of fitting in. If you do, you'll keep adjusting yourself over and over again to fit.
You also need to go in there and be youthful. There’s people in their 30s that act like old people go in there with energy regardless of what u do.
Young people dye their hair gray now. I saw 2 today. My mom started turning gray in her 20s and so did my best friend. I think you’re fine. I’m 57 also.
I contemplated dyeing my hair until someone pointed out that they’d seen me on zoom and I’d look weird showing up with a different color hair. But agreed if you decide to do it, have a professional do it. For the record, I didn’t.
I use a temp spray to cover my roots when things get crazy up there. It just helps ‘freshen things up’ and doesn’t completely remove the gray and helps me feel better. It’s like $15 at Walgreens or CVS. You should try it at home first before the interview and if you don’t like it, easy to just shower it right out.
