I’m a third year M&A at a big firm in one of the bigger offices. I’ve been feeling quite deflated lately because I have came to conclusion that it is literally impossible to make equity partner as a woman. This is not because of what’s happening recently but just over the years I see who gets promoted each year. Also, there is like one real female equity partner in M&A in our office where there’s like 30+ male equity partners and hundreds of associates. It used to feel like…cont

It used to feel like it was just very, very difficult but now I feel it’s literally impossible. The one female share partner is sooooo brilliant and on top of it and works SOOO hard and fwiw is a white lady. However, even so, I honestly think based on who makes partners each year that she only made it because she was lucky (not that she didn’t deserve it - she totally does). At that time (as recent as just ~4 years ago) there were like no women EP and the firm wants to look good for recruiting and the climate back then. So now there is already someone “representing,” it’s not really necessary anymore. I see women leave one after another and some are brilliant and been here their whole career just to get pushed out. Honestly it’s not like I don’t think the men that makes it doesn’t deserve it but like its just impossible for women and that’s the reality so what’s the point of recruiting like at least 50% women associates… seems like just to use them and burn them out. I guess making money in the meantime is nice but prob quit next year unless there are actually large firms with decent chance of making EP for women. Thanks for reading my rant.

I left M&A for this reason. Try ECVC.

Hi, I had finished my technical and managerial round on May 25th and 26th with PWC. The manager did mention that there would be another in-person round in the PWC Bangalore office. Although the first 2 rounds went well, there has been no further response from HR. Is this a normal delay or should I think I didn't make it. Any thoughts?

I was approached to work in EY Melbourne. I was promised for a visa sponsorship. I have several questions:
- What is the work culture there? Is it fast paced or a bit relaxed?
- What’s the salary range for experienced consultant?

Got 2 offers:
Lucidworks - 33
Boeing - 35(Verbal offer after countered them with lucidworks offer).

Now with freshworks, last round is pending.
Let me know what would be better.

From interview perspective, I enjoyed lucidworks interview as the interviews taken by quality people compared to other two companies. But it is a startup.

Btw, I have been interviewed for 6 rounds in Citrix and waiting to hear from them.

This isn’t anything original but I work in a small Southeast Asian country and would love to work in the states one day. Not necessarily anytime soon. Maybe in a couple of years but it seems near impossible to do the kind of work that would be worth any US agency’s time in this market. There are a bunch of really talented people here but for some reason the work just doesn’t reflect it. For those who made the jump across from a shit small market. How did you do it and do you have any advice?
