I’m an entry level analyst working on this engagement. I suffer from anxiety and have bad imposter syndrome. I recently started my an engagement. I feel that it can take me longer than most to understand things because of my anxiety. I’m currently working on an engagement that the head of my practice said has a very important client to my firm. I actually want to exit into their firm one day. Today was the first non-shadowing day, and it went poorly. I felt that the client was annoyed whenever I

The clients always seem annoyed. You were probably just fine.

Relax and breath. I was there. Was so stressed out that I wouldn’t remember anything and was very inefficient. I hit a point where I stopped caring as much and started performing way better. Breathe. You got this. You aren’t a recruiting mistake. You just need some time to adjust to your new company’s way of doing things. Good luck!

Requested guidance and in addition I didn’t get the deliverable done on time. When I shadowed, it was a lot of steps but the concept was easy to understand, the procedure that they gave me was not easy to understand.

Do most clients expect you to know exactly what you’re doing when you start an engagement? I have to talk with the director of this project tomorrow and I’m not sure if I should convey this anxiety to him to help me salvage a bad first impression.

It was so bad, I apologized today for asking for access to a document that they sent me earlier on in the day.

I have anxiety. In part as you get later on in your career it will lessen. But In the meantime just remember we’re consultants and it’s not really that important. We’re not doing hear surgery or something. And every consultant that has done it for a while has felt overwhelmed at different points. You just ride it out and try your best. Things really are never as bad as they seem.

They cant put me on performance defaulters as I voluntarily resigned and also got good feedback from client.
The reason I resigned was the sh^^head manager and project.
He said I would be released from project soon and then on bench but after resigning he is saying you have to serve the NP n we cant release early.
This is only option left to get released from this sh^t place

Hi fishes, in a dilemma....switched to a Big4 from MNC(almost 7 years of exp) in April 2020. The pay was normalised at 15.5LPA. Will get the package revised next month to 16.25 LPA. Now Deloitte has approached, so can I ask for 30%pay hike considering the switch will happen after completing almost 11-12 months in my current organization or can I ask for more than 30%, depending if I get a senior consultant or manager role? Also will the switch within a year have any negative impact?
