Raise your hand if you’re still waiting for your firm to announce raises 🙋🏻‍♀️

Our firm (AM100, historically non-Cravath scale) announced raises for only one office (of our 25+ offices), which are still well below the new DPW scale (and below the prior $190k scale). Have stated that they’ll deal with salary adjustments in all other offices in 2022. Trying to GTFO ASAP.

I actually think not using a recruiter is better as the firm won’t have to pay for 25% of your salary to a recruiter, which is now 51.25k for a first year, which you can directly ask for as a signing bonus since there’s no middleman. FWIW when I first lateraled, not using a recruiter was considered a “good” thing and thus was able to negotiate 10k signing at the time as a 2nd yr lateral (and the market wasnt hot back then).

Just wanted to remind my fellow creatives that agencies need us more than we need them. It’s important to be respectful, but don’t be afraid to speak up, push back, ask for a raise, ask for time off or quit. The value we bring to the table is fundamental, very hard to replace and is often overlooked by us and leadership. Agencies everywhere are in overdrive mode and creatives are being overworked to keep the engine moving. Make sure you’re compensated properly for it.

Coming back to D in October after LOA. During that LOA, I was approached by other firms, and received 3 offers. I do want to stay at D but if they cant match the offers I received, I will leave (offers include 30% increase and a promotion). How should I go about this? Do I contact my coach and let him know that I would like to stay but received different offers and I want to know if Deloitte can match them?

Fairly confident I’ll get an in industry offer this week! Mixed feelings though... Main reason for leaving is WFH consulting just simply isn’t enjoyable. Getting harder for me to see the value in grinding for consulting. Is this short term thinking off? Do people think weathering this storm will give potential raises / promotions soon? I just don’t see consulting going back to what it use to be for ~2 years. I’m a consultant level going for promotion to manager.

Would you ever ask for a raise in a lockstep firm? I have billed enough hours over target consistently since the start of my career (500-800 hours over every year) that I am well over a year’s worth of target hours ahead. I think there is no chance, but thought I’d ask the question here just in case!
