Well, I’m experiencing quite the opposite. I’m a white female in tech and 95% of my coworkers are Muslim and while I don’t have the self confidence challenge it sounds like you have, I’m treated as if I know nothing and it’s been confirmed, I singularly have more experience than ANY one other person doing the same job. In tech, these days, it does seem like it’s a more Muslim dominated world and while you may feel you’re not being treated fairly, (I can’t comment to that),you do have one of 2 choices. Find a new job or find the confidence you say you lack. Neither is gonna be easy but the latter is probably a lot easier then the first
That’s so awful to hear and I’m sorry you’ve been targeted in this way - crazy when you hear opposite sides of pretty much the same story which is unfortunate. Must be a male thing because I’m starting to find it suffocating how pretty much all the female employees I had a good bond with and were great leaders were driven and are being driven out the firm I’m working at.
Definitely finding a new job is on the cards right now, this market is crazy though.
If you confidence is tanked than you need to make a change to a role where you know you can succeed and gain that back. It sucks your manager might be holding that discussion against you and that a pip might prevent and internal move. I’d suggest finding a company where the culture more closely matches what you are looking for. I don’t care what anyone says representation in a company matters and has an impact on unconscious bias.
Exactly. It feels so weird to be targeted in such a way where the company claims to have a great culture and ‘one of the best places to work’ which is so beyond me with staff like this. I’m looking for a new role currently but the job market is rough out here

Never raise issues like this to management or HR.
You’ll never do well where you are uncomfortable. Consulting is dominated by white males. If that working environment is not comfortable for you maybe you should think about exiting consulting.
Definitely on my cards of moving out of consulting. It’s weird to say even Big 4 when I was there wasn’t THIS bad
