I'm getting an explosion of calls from people with Indian accents and they are getting aggressive. One guy just called me about a delivery manager job in NYC hybrid. He says I would have to go to office 3 days a week. I live 100 miles away, 2 States away. I said no i can't do it. he replies "You can do it." I respond I just did contract nion NYC and had to come out of pocket for travel. Don't tell me what i can do and not do. I hung up.

They’re just trying to lock you in to an RTR document and get their commission. It’s entertaining when two or more from the same company are trying to recruit you.

like

What the… that is so strange. Especially when they push like that. I wonder if they’re just getting commissions for hires they reached out to you. Are you sure it’s legitimate? If it is I would contact the company that’s hiring and let them know about his behavior.

Your contact information is in their database including your resume. They search for a keyword and send those matches the role they’re recruiting for. Most of the time they don’t confirm location or anything else. This is you get JD that doesn’t align or well below your experience and what you’re targeting.

Be careful of scammers, the information you’ve on your resume can be used against you.

I get a bunch of them. Different personality. ask to see the job description and I wont all RTR without seeing the details first. I have gotten quite a few interviews. They do get a bit creative with what you "can" do. I tend to calmdy state I am not interested and give a quick summary of what I'm looking for. Save the contact and company so the are no longer a possible spam. When they send the job description, it is usually from some unknown consulting company email (if its gmail, DELETE and BLOCK) dont give banking info. I believe they get paid when you complete a contract. That's why they want you to sign the RTR. You can tell them the range you want so they dont call with low priced roles. I pretend I'm busy on phone since I cant understand caller so I can read the job description and I respond right away. They're trying to make $$ too.

I think in the last 4 years of dealing with this landscape, I only got 1 person that led to an interview and job. And it was with Cisco. Sure the project that was 18 months was cancelled after only 2 months due to no project sponsor but hey that’s life I guess. Anyway that person sent me to his account manager which was a person at insight global. So even recruiters are farming out to these firms in India.

You don’t enjoy call center recruitment with a little 7/11 flavor ? Don’t be hateful.

No one in the world will ask your DL or ID before offer but them. Be careful!! Never hand your DL or id.
Where did you put your resume?

I get annoyed when these recruiters email me for entry level minimum wage fully on site. Clearly they’re not reviewing my resume. Which is AVP level in analytics and reporting.

Why is your phone number floating around? You don't make the mistake of putting it on your rez do you?

Companies are outsourcing recruitment overseas primarily to India. This is very common and you have to be alert to make sure you don’t fall for a scam. Be alert to the RED FLAGS!🚩

I am reaching out to you on an exciting job opportunity with one of our clients. :Technical Requirements

Exposure on managing remote sites
Phone support experience necessary.
Technical helpdesk or technical call center experience is necessary.
Disciplined, systematic problem-solving skills required.
Windows and Novell Operating systems
Clients: Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 10/11 Windows 2000

Now there were even more exciting requirements but so far, within 15 minutes, no less than 5 different recruiters are emailing me with this tempting life altering opportunity. Wherever they got my info clearly shows I have over 25 years experience and address a bit more than this, and I can honestly make more pumping gas down the street than taking this role.

We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?
