It varies project to project, but we do some very cool development on some Government projects at Deloitte. When you are trying to get staffed on a project, you’d want to talk to people on the project and get an idea for how much / how sophisticated the development is.
I’m working on a project with heavy development — major LWC with JS frameworks, python scripts for automations, selenium automated front-end tests, the works. And I love every minute of it!
Deloitte 1, you bring up a good point that I hadn’t thought to share. I am working on a federal project, and my understanding is that federal projects do not allow non-US-residents to work on the project (I could be wrong, someone call me out if I am). But state and local projects I do hear get a lot of resources from USI (US-India). So you want to find a federal project if you want better coding opportunities. I do know there are a bunch of big federal Salesforce projects running at any given time, that have some level of fun development going on.
Although the more we talk about it the more it seems there are lots of filters to apply to your project, and it may be hard to be picky when you’re just starting at the firm.
Your problem isn't the company you work for, it's the architects. The obstacle is the way, become that architect.
My conclusion after over 12 years in the ecosystem, as my title states.
