Is it the hours and/or pressure? Toxic culture? Whats do you think is the cause of the burnout?
Last time I felt this way, I left and found a new job. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Finding a new job is the most common cure. However, you need to understand what is causing the burnout. It’s very easy to repeat, even with a different job, if you don’t understand the cause.
I’m in the same boat. I’m looking at moving to a different firm with better tools as I am at capacity and have no work life balance. My current firm is not a good fit for me or I for them. Have you considered transitioning?
Try to figure out what is burning you out and change it.
These could be small changes (taking an hour for lunch, exercising), or larger ones (finding a new job.
Can you stop doing the parts of your job that you find the most draining (ask your manager for different work)? If not can you do them first when you have most energy?
Until you know what is causing the burnout you can’t fix it.
It sounds to me like it is time to start looking for a new role. I was feeling this way in my last role and I finally had to get out of there. I feel like a whole new person now that I am not drained by my job.
Consider applying for FMLA so you can take the time you need to focus on your well‑being. Burnout is common, and as others have mentioned, it can become a recurring issue until healthier ways of managing interactions and expectations are established.
First try to understand what’s causing it. The last time I was super burnt out, it was the culture and workload so I found a new job. It took time, but it was worth it

If you have any PTO built up, use it on a recovery vacation. If that doesn’t work or isn’t an option, it’s time to have an honest conversation with your manager about what’s happening. See if there is anything they can do to help make your work experience more manageable. You can always look for another job as well. Just realize the grass isn’t always greener somewhere else… you usually trade one set of problems for another if you are making a lateral move. I would also examine whether you want to continue in your field or if that is literally the cause of your stress. Start exploring options. It might mean a pay change for a while. Only you can determine what is worth it for you and your family. Best of luck to you!!
