Hi Fishes! I joined Capgemini as a fresher in June 2021 got trained in automation testing for 3 months and later tagged to a manual testing project. I received a hike last July 2022 after completion of one year. As per Capgemini new policy our designations will be changed after 18 months of joining that will be January 2023 can I expect any hike after my designation changes? If yes how much can i expect. Could any one help me here from Capgemini Cognizant Tata Consultancy Microsoft CGI Infosys

At my firm I’ve noticed diverse attorneys are always showcases on RFPs regardless of whether they’ll be staffed, to bolster the illusion of diversity
I am a white male, and I have been explicitly told that I was left out of proposals for optics reasons, even though I would be on the team if the work came in.
You should have a discussion about this. It could be that they are only proposing more senior team members, but that you will
still be involved. I think this is wrong, it is a very poor marketing tactic for the firm in the long term. You want to make sure your name is on every file and document you touch. This will not only benefit you but the firm as well.

This is not normal.
It was very normal at my old firm for white* men to create RFP responses/pitch decks and then women or non-white* people to be included in the actual deck.
*included because race is a social construct
Yikes

Odd imo. I’m a 2nd year and my photo and name and bio has been included on all our RFPs that have gone out. Even the RFPs I didn’t contribute to (our marketing department handles most of the work and we just input the deal specifics)

How junior are you? At my former biglaw firm, only more senior attorneys or lawyers with specific experience were included. Clients won’t hire the firm for a specific Junior unless they have some skill that is valuable to the case (language skills, previous experience with the judge, etc)
This is normal. I have been in legal business development and practice management for 15 years at a senior level at big firms and typically the RFP doc and/or conversations the partner has had with in-house counsel dictate the team. Frequently only lead partners are listed with a rate range or blended rate for other titles. Now some do include all titles, so if you are taking the lead drafting and then your peers at your level are being slotted in to the response then I too would be disappointed. I will tell you that over the years that I have always had the ear of key partners and always raved about the associates that did a good job drafting the legal content. Remember the easier you make life for the partners (so long as your hours are good) the better you are in the long run.
Actually fairly normal from what I’ve seen.
Not weird; sometimes the norm is not to list associates

Usually the RFP presentation has to hit all of the diversity checkboxes, so the closer you are to white cis make the likelier you are to be left off the pitch and visibility even if you end up doing a lot of the work.

Not normal but has happened to me too

Happened to me too but the case we were pitching was a real POS so I didn’t want anything to do with it if we brought the client in

Weird if you are spending hours on it.
Immediately thought you were talking about requests for production and then it made more sense… 🤦♀️
