I’m in the final stages for a job, and they asked for my references last week. My references confirmed they were contacted and gave great feedback, but I haven't heard anything from the recruiter or hiring manager since. Is it a bad sign if they go quiet after checking references? I thought that was usually the final step.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. These things take a lot longer than you'd think. Even if they are drafting up the contract, that alone takes a few days. Just be patient and congratulations hopefully!

From my experience, reference checks are rarely done unless they’re seriously considering you. The quiet period is usually internal logistics, not doubt about you. If it’s been more than a week, a short check-in email is fair.

I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

I have 2.5 years of experience as a BI consultant primarily working with SQL and Power BI. I feel a little underpaid while currently making $75k. All of my performance reviews have been positive and I have been the lead/only BI developer on two of our largest and most public projects this year. Any thoughts on what I could ask for at end of year reviews for a salary increase?
