I'm looking to start my own private bookkeeping service. I can provide any service except income taxes. Any ideas on how to get started. I want to keep it small. Maybe generate about 3k per month. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions. One other thing , I don't want to pound the pavement looking for clients..

You're joking. You'd have to grind to compete with the countless self-service bookkeeping programs and bigger companies that can surely undercut your prices.

Reconsider including income taxes. Anybody can do bookkeeping, and people don't generally like to pay a lot for that service.

It’s a great idea if you do good work. Tax advisors will feed you as much as you can keep up with. Network heavily there.

Agree with this 100%. It’s always a plus when books come in clean. You can likely provide the bookkeeping service for cheaper than anyone at my firm could while still making a decent profit. The hard part will be getting those first few accounts to get started.

If you are good, you’d get more work that you can do. Drop contact and I’ll start sending work.

If you’re serious about sending work, I’d love to connect!!

I’m considering doing the same thing. Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For anyone who cracked the leetcode questions. I’ve been going at it for months but spend hours trying to get to a solution and hours trying to understand why the “answer key” works. Can someone please share how you learned these questions? Probably going to give up and switch careers soon.

Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?
