I'm pivoting to a new career. After multiple interviews, I was offered an entry level job, where I need to obtain a few licenses for which I'll be reimbursed. In my excitement, I made the mistake of accepting a verbal offer over the phone. I realized overnight that the offer is nearly $20k below the listed range, even after getting the license. I realize I have little experience in this exact field, but my background in CS is huge & a big part of the job. Help! I have to do something soon!!

Is the $20k lower offer workable for you? If yes, then reach out to the recruiter or hiring manager and voice your concerns about the offer being lower than the posted range. They may realize their mistake and correct, or more likely they wanted to hire someone at the offer you received, and the higher range was a ploy to get better talent in an employers market. If that's the case, you will be making what was offered.

If you are in a position to walk away, do the same as above, and maintain a respectful tone, but be more confident in your position.

The job will require some lifestyle changes for me, and some expenses that have nothing to do with the day to day. I didn't realize that the commute was going to require, for me personally, to purchase a new vehicle. My current vehicle isn't going to make it much longer, for that distance. That isn't their problem, I know. However, when I was thinking about salary I was considering that possibility. In the moment, I forgot about that.

Hello Guys,

I joined
Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?

As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.
