I’m planning my 2025 schedule for the CPA exams after taking 4 years off. I’m a tax professional and starting with REG. I’m thinking about doing REG, TCP, AUD and then FAR last in that order. Any thoughts or advice? Should I switch to another discipline or re-order the exams? How many hours should I plan for each exam? I work about 25 hours most weeks, no kids and not married. I have lots of time to actually get it done. I’ll be using Becker. Thank you in advance from someone who is terrified.

Thank you all. I went ahead and submitted my CPA exam application for far. Once I pass that, I will submit it for audit and then once again for REG and TCP.

Since you have a lot of time go all in and try to get it done as fast as possible. It can get extremely overwhelming the more you keep postponing it

My goal is to get it done in 2025. I don’t know if this schedule is too aggressive or to lax. Red highlights are when I’m traveling or have family in town.

My advice is to reverse the order. Start with the hardest.

Do TCP, but do FAR, AUD, REG, TCP. The order of the last two doesn’t matter much. Everyone I know that left FAR for last regrets it. 🗣️ I repeat 99.99999% of people that leave FAR for the end regret it. 🗣️

Also, as a tax pro, leaving the hardest exams for Fall busy season is not a good plan. Study FAR and Aud between April - August. Then if you actually do study during fall busy season you’re studying something that’s easy for you (REG/TCP) not something that’s completely new.

Good luck✨

Focus on far first, it was a pain to pass
