I’m so tired of being the ‘reliable one.’ Every extra task, every emergency, every last-minute request somehow lands on me. How do you stop being the default without becoming the villain?

If you’re up for it, I’d be willing to offer you a complimentary one on one session where we can explore this common issue and how to resolve. Reliability Gets Rewarded — and Then Weaponized. At first, reliability brings:
• Trust
• Access
• More responsibility

Then it quietly turns into:
• Unbounded expectations
• Fewer questions about your capacity
• Less protection of your time, energy, and thinking

You don’t get more influence.
You get more load.

It’s not easy but it’s definitely doable

Just tell the person you don’t have time to take on that job and do yours as well.

I’m afraid I set a precedence and will be seen as not performing if I slow down now!

I started saying no when people came to me with every little thing. People don’t always like boundaries, and it takes some getting used to, but eventually they stop asking. You’re going to have to stop being the go-to person by learning to say no.

I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter. Have I been ghosted or is there still hope? Does anyone at Visa have insights? Looks like there are a ton of jobs posted so maybe they are just backed up?

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!
