I think passion for work is a myth in large part. If it's your passion now, it won't be after you're required to work on someone else's projects, or once you realize you're underpaid for it, or when you have annoying coworkers. I think work should be thought of as a means to living out your passions
Passion can be a powerful source especially when working in a field you love. I work in education, there was a while I took an 11 year sabbatical to pursue other projects and now am back in education and am very passionate about what I do.
That being said - passion is like a tide and can rise and withdraw but still be there and covers the proverbial 70% of our emotional surface.
The trick is to rise above petty squabbles especially at work. There will always be cliques (even in a school staff body).
This is one of the biggest career questions out there. Honestly, it depends on you. Some people can't thrive unless their work connects to what they love. Others are okay using their skills in a stable job, earning more, and then using that money to enjoy their real passions through hobbies. Both paths are valid. What is your style?
I think I need a job related so something I love but doesn’t cross over whatsoever with things I like to do in my free time if tbat makes sense!
