Don’t let it control your life! Tell in advance if you need a day off or a doctors appt and stand up for that!
Thank you, I'll try my best!!
Yes, but perhaps not as much as you would like. It's a pretty demanding job, but the idea is that it can set you up for success later down the line so you can get a role where you can have a better balance
I'd say depends on the work culture wherever you're at, some places are simply more stressful than others and you'll want to see reviews or ask people who work there what to expect as a PA
Simple answer: no. But you can create your own balance. Let them know ahead of time if you have something that will cause you to miss work or something, and work only your allotted hours, don't take anything extra without extra payment!
When you're assigned to a project, especially if it's a TV show, be prepared to work the longest hours you've ever worked. It can be a lot, so be prepared for it.
Yes I know serveal PA
didn't mean to hit the enter button...yes i know several PAs and they have a perfect social life, and family life, and still work full time. They don't let it control them! I also know a full-time single doctor who adopted 5 kids and still handles it all, and her kids are all fully involved in sports.
I think it is hard to have good wlb as a PA. Atleast from what I have seen with my friends in the industry. But like someone said above, you can find your own balance. I have had roles where I just learned to create my own balance and still enjoy what I was doing. It is hard but its possible.
Hi! I am a former PA. Yes, but you have to work on it. It's pretty demanding so you have to be really smart about time-management.
Life as a PA is insistent and taxing but it's not impossibke to still be able to have a personal life despite of it. It can depend on your environment but you also have to be ready to fight for your own balance and manage your obligations well.
The answer is no if you don't set necessary boundaries. As I have read earlier, the key to a balancing work and life is boundary.
Depends on the type of PA. Post PAs have more than set PAs
On set PAs definitely have no WLB, it's a thankless role IMO
There is some sort of leeway and understanding I have with my company. That is why I can have WLB for the most part. sometimes I get tired but it is definitely worth it
I doubt it. You might be able to find a few but I don't think they really have that "WLB" that we are talking about. Being a PA contradicts WLB.
