I’m starting to wonder if I’m burned out or just tired. How did you know it was time to step back or make a change? I don't want to make a huge decision that I may soon regret!

I totally get that! I went through the same back-and-forth. For me, I realized it was burnout when even weekends or vacations didn’t recharge me. That’s when I knew I had to make some kind of change, even if it was small at first.

Have wrestled with that myself. I decided to give myself 2 weeks of focusing on my sleep and making sure I disconnected after work. I was also able to take a couple of days of PTO. That answered the question for me that I needed to tweak some things, and not a major life change! Although that was just my experience.

For me it depends on the length and the pervasiveness of the burnout. Is it bleeding into my personal life, or is it mostly confined to the office? Has it been going on for weeks, or are we talking 6+ months? If it's been going on for a while, preventing me from finding joy in my personal life and not solved by going on vacation, it's time for a change. But even if all that held true, I would not be leaving a job without another one lined up. At least not in today's job market. Burnout is awful, but I'll take it over the stress of unemployment.

I give myself three strikes. If it lasts more than 3 days or I ruminate on it 3 times, it’s time for a change

hello! I’m looking to get some insight to see if I’m being paid fairly for where I’m at in my career. I’ve worked at the same company for 2.5 years. This is my first job out of college. Started as an HR Admin, basically in a call center for all HR related inquiries and now am a Sr Admin assisting with escalations, interviewing, training new hires, supporting my team, scheduling, keeping track of stats- phone calls, tickets resolved, etc. I’m making $52k per year and work remote out of MA.

I am Senior Project Manger and Product Owner in the government arena. I’m interviewing for a start up and the role sounds interesting. Usually for the “test” part of the interview I’ve had to analyze data. This company wants me to develop a growth strategy that outlines key initiatives for growth, different opportunities, experiments I’d run, KPIs, and working cross-functionally.

Is this a lot for an interview?

I’m a little afraid of doing all this work to then just have them take my ideas and not hire me.
