I’m the person they call when someone doesn’t show up. I say yes more than I should because I don’t want to let anyone down. Lately I’m wondering if being ‘reliable’ just means being tired. Anyone else stuck in that role?

A good project for this year would be to train the people you work with to stop having you be their first call. Let people know that you can't always show up. That's a problem with being reliable, it's like the old joke about how no good deed goes unpunished.

I started to set boundaries after feeling like I was just being abused and lead on. Sure enough once I stopped working 24/7 it was clear I was just being abused. They found the next person in line to do the dirty work.

I feel this so much—being the “go-to” is appreciated, but it can definitely leave you drained. Reliability shouldn’t mean exhausting yourself; setting boundaries is tough but necessary to avoid burnout.

Hey 🐟,

I got offer in Infosys for 6.7 Lpa (55% on my Current CTC).

Recently, I got promotion and hike as well. So now the offer @Infosys is merely 34% of my revised salary.

Is it good Idea to renegotiate the salary? How to approach?

Note: I do not hold any other offer.

Anyone looking at traveling to Costa Rica? They have a list of states from which they will admit tourists while also requiring a negative covid test, health history, etc. As someone not on the approved list, I am bitter and curious why the population is grouped at a state level when there are massively different rates of infection within each state (not to mention personal responsibility) and you are already required to present a negative test. Any idea how often those lists get updated?

Hi what is the maximum salary that can be provided in Verizon for the role 'Senior Engineer Consultant-QA Test Automation' ?

We are going through a phase in the market where dev salaries are rocketing up, and we are VZI should not sell ourselves short and wonder where we stand.

Drop your band, YOE, base and total CTC below 👇

We should at least know if we are paid at par within the same company, we already know we are below the market.

I'll start - 6V, 6.8yrs, base 19LPA and total 24LPA

My wife often calls me by 5:45/6 to ask where I am if I’m not headed home yet. Sometimes she’s stressed with kids/dogs/dinner and really wants me home. This really throws off my concentration because it makes me feel rushed. Like many practices sometimes I’m out at 5:30, other times it’s much later. Just depends and is unpredictable. Any advice on how to approach this?
