Be prepared for sticker shock from everything from housing costs to the average cost of a drink. Traffic is hell. A studio anywhere reasonable is 2300 plus

Miami provides a different culture and way of living from the entire US. Outside of Brickell and perhaps downtown, it is primarily Latino culture and Spanish speaking.
If you’re moving due to unique offerings Miami has like year-round outdoor weather, beach, slow-life type lifestyle, then ok.
But, like others have mentioned, it’s gotten expensive. I wouldn’t recommend MIA for those making under 100k. It’s survivable, not comfortable.
100k is barely doable in my experience unless you have a roommate or do a studio
Pros: tropical weather, beaches, LatAm food, experiencing a different culture, physically beautiful people and places, taxes.
Cons: CoL is very high, low trust society (you’ll meet plenty of people who should set off your BS radar, everyone out for themselves), experiencing a different culture and not being able to communicate, beautiful people making you feel not beautiful enough, outdoor experiences besides the beach/boating are very limited, hard to make friends, traffic.
My wife is from the Midwest and she would have left had we not met (I’m local).
If you want a fun and expensive experience of living somewhere that can feel like another country in the tropics, have at it. If you just want better weather and beaches go somewhere else.
