In biglaw employment lit, are 5th year associates expected to handle cases on their own or will they always work with a partner on a case?

OP wants to know if a 5th year runs an entire litigation without a partner staffed. You’re lucky if you even take a plaintiff’s deposition as a 5th year.

Partner

like

Yes. I’m a fourth year and pretty much handle the cases on my own, including taking deps, defending deps, court appearances, strategy, etc. The partner is on the case but has no idea what’s going on. I usually ask them to step in to try to settle because I need more experience with that, but otherwise, it’s all me.

This sounds like a real malpractice risk to me, but hopefully it’s working out for you!

At my firm, if you’re an associate (1st year or 10th year), you ALWAYS have a partner staffed on the case. Now, not all partners are created equal and will delegate responsibility differently, but they should be involved. I’m a 10th year associate and pretty much run cases on my own but always keep them in the loop as far as strategy. But I handle most of the day to day myself.

Will Deloitte india revise offer based on the current offer?

I got offer from Deloitte for around 14.5 (fixed + variable) for 4 years of experience in SAP.

But now i have better offer for around 17 LPA.

Is it a good decision to ask Deloitte india for a revision?

What are the chances that they'll revise the offer?

What % do you guys charge a partner to advertise on social using your handle/ad account? Is a 100% markup fee plus an "agency" like fee for maintenance of 15% too aggressive?

Am I the only social worker/therapist who doesn’t work well with being assigned to do last minute paperwork? I’m a very organized person, both personally and professionally and this has been challenging for me in a professional setting. How would you present this to your supervisor who continues to not understand? Any feedback is appreciated 😊

Case load= malpractice? Small plaintiff’s firm of 25 attorneys. I was a 2 year associate hired and given 50 active files in pre litigation status. 9 mos later a partner quit and I inherited 45 more. I got up to 105 files. Now I hover at 85 active files in varying stages of pre lit. I asked managing partner for help and was told to settle more claims to lessen my load. Is this what people consider negative work culture?

Do I tell her my timeline is now a month, or is telling them I'm getting fired going to tank my chances of getting the job?
