I’m a recent law graduate and I was offered a job as a law clerk in estate planning (mainly focusing on conservatorships). I’ve never considered working in this field before and I don’t know what to do. I worked as a summer associate in litigation and found it extremely stressful, so I’m open to try new fields. As I continue to finish up my portfolio and hunt for creative jobs in advertising, I cannot help but get a bit discouraged. I see and hear so many horror stories about being black in advertising and a lot of times it just seems like the risks are much greater than any reward from working in this industry.
