Rising Star
It’s a great rate. Unless you have a lot of Cannes Lions and had work in the Super Bowl this year.
At a junior level role? Yes honey, yes bb it’s a good rate.
Maybe I’ve unofficially jumped to mid level? The work seems like a much higher responsibility than I’ve had in the past.
Chief
Whoever’s paying you that. Do they need an ACD?
Its good
those are poverty wages and you should be insulted. in fact, i'd be happy to take that insulting wage for a junior off your hands for your peace of mind
It’s probably a mid-level workload and they’re billing the client at $120/hr or more for your work.
Agencies love hiring people at a lower level and paying slightly above that lower level to do work that exceeds that level.
They then bill clients for a legitimate higher level salary and profit off the difference
Not saying it isn’t for a junior. It’s great that he/ she is getting that. More power to them. Especially in this current market.
Clients have always been automatically billed at 200-250% of what it costs the agency for the freelancer or employee. I’ve seen my groups finance spreadsheets at multiple places and THAT is standard practice.
What’s happening now though, and the issue, is that agencies are putting senior copy or AD peeps in in CD roles at an ACD salary and billing clients for a legitimate CD role. Making 10’s of thousands more off them. But they can’t properly fulfill their CD roles and the utter incompetence is beyond obvious to the group and the client.
It’s yet another reason why clients don’t trust agencies.
It’s fine for Jr or midlevel but this has been disastrous for the higher levels. Agencies are destroying themselves for the sake of short term, greed.
but always fight for more?
YES
Sounds pretty good to me!
Wait, who do you have to fight?
