Anyone else having experience planners in their agencies argue against doing “campaigns” or lobbying for more campaign neutral work? To me, this is the beginning of the demise of creativity when internal people push for bland neutral work.

Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.

1. agency: variety of some big brands, ability to build portfolio, lower salary

2. in-house: nothing fancy to show for portfolio, creating the voice for the brand, higher salary (30-50k higher)
