Is anyone else a super duper perfectionist? It’s crippling my productivity and I’ve gotten complaints from partners that I’m slow. They’re not wrong. I’m a first year and I already feel like I’m failing.

Do you have a sense of where you’re getting bogged down? Are you spending a ton of time proofreading? Are you going down rabbit holes on research/assignments, trying to tie down every possible loose end? Something else? You could have an assistant or paralegal help with proofing. If you’re going off on tangents in research, I’d suggest putting together a rough research plan or outline and running it by the supervising attorney, and then checking in frequently to make sure you’re focusing on the right things.

This is a first year canon event. It’s so overwhelming and hard to navigate. I was the same way. I got prescribed some medication to help with the anxiety and spiraling, and it really helped me, if you’re open to that. You got this!

Is the complaint that you aren’t getting your assignments turned in time or because a lot of your time gets written off?

Oh got it. Yes, definitely get your assignments in on time. Work late if you need to. Give constant updates to the partner as well on your progress. Regarding the time written off, that will get better with practice. I feel like as long as you are producing solid work product and your efficiency improves over time, you should be fine.

Looking for some mental health advice - I’ve been dealing with pretty debilitating anxiety/panic attacks for over 5 years. Finally started to get some help for it through medication, however the first 3 meds my PCP prescribed me (ssris) didn’t work. Because I haven’t deal with the anxiety it’s gotten really bad. Do I go to a pyscitatrist whose trained more in pharma or start with therapist. Have done therapy in past without much help.

Read a very interesting article on that used machine learning and a lot of data to find key things people look on a relationship:
- Tall (if a man),
- Rich,
- Specific race/ethnicity,
- Similarity to one self (people are 11% more likely to date someone with a similar name)
- Sexy name? I may have to change mine now
- Physical attractiveness
- Occupation of authority - if a man

And these same factors were classified as the ones with the least impact on happiness in a relationship

How is the work life balance in Citi?

Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?

Seeking honest advice here.
