Hi! I’ve been approached by Securonix for a Sales Director role in NA. I know the field and their competitors. The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.

I’d start off by being straight to the point. Act as if you have the role and ask HR or to the person your going to reporting to…what is the expectation of you coming in? Do they need to turn the ship around from a culture or performance perspective? What resources/budget do you have at your disposal? Essentially what your looking for is to have an up front conversation. If they are dodging the facts and questions that you bring up from your research then run for the hills. But you want to consider how new the leadership team is as well. If they are all new then that’s a good sign.

I’ve been struggling to be satisfied with my current job as an AE and interviewing else where, however, everywhere that I interview I keep getting the same feedback: “hiring managers had only positive things to say about you, but we have decided to move forward with candidates who whose skills are more closely aligned to the immediate needs of the team. Please consider us for the future”
I have no idea what I’m doing wrong, anyone have advice?

Hey guys!

Currently working in consulting - looking to switch to an SDR / BDR role next year. Wanted to understand what a 1st year SDR / BDR would make at tech firms. Open to advice, thoughts, recommendations for firms for me to check out and apply to!

Hey all, I'm approaching my 1yr anniversary in my current role, and I'm curious of what I should expect in terms of a raise.

I started at $57k base last year, with OTE of $70k

I received a small raise at the start of this year, along with a new comp plan so current numbers are $59k base and ~$80k OTE.

This role is in a life sciences vertical. SDRs in this vertical w/ a year of experience average 60-70k base.

I'd like to land at $65k, thoughts?

Hi everyone, I just accepted an offer as an account executive for NetApp. I am just under 3 years of experience. I have a 75k base with an OTE of 125k. Is that average? Good? I’d like to know what people think of this. I’m also outside of the DC area.

Hey all- I’m a L&D Professional with some sales experience. I want to jump into Sales L&D but many roles require sales experience. I’ve helped close complex sales for large scale project work but have never been held accountable to monthly revenue targets since it wasnt my primary role with the exception of a brief time spent as an SDR. Looking for input if I should just go for Sales L&D positions or start as an AE and then apply for Sales L&D. Currently have interview for AE role with Gartner.
