Is anyone else’s workplace very noisy? Today there was so many of us in and a few people from different areas kept popping in to speak to some individuals and at times there was multiple conversations going on in one open spaced room. I hate it when this happens as I find it so hard to concentrate and even worse if my phone rings as I won’t be able to properly hear and think!
Has anyone else experienced this?

It can get pretty noisy at times in our office. It's funny because the cubicles are made of sound deadening material, but of course they're just cubicles, so they don't absorb much. Most of the time conversations in the background aren't too distracting for me. If I'm not following a conversation and it's just kind of a background buzz I can work through it. At times I've put in my Pixel Buds just to use the noise canceling.

Yeah I get that, for me it depends how loud the background noise is as if it’s minimal I don’t take any notice but with multiple people and multiple voices it’s hard to cancel out even with ear buds in as they still can override it.

My side of the building is eerily quiet. You can always tell when someone is walking down the hall.

Yes I have the same or when they’re coming down the stairs, and we can tell by how they come down the stairs who it is coming down🤣

Totally feel you. Open-plan offices are chaos disguised as “collaboration.” Noise-cancelling headphones are the only thing keeping me sane most days.

They can honestly be a life saver in busy times!
