Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.
https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491
My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

Firms are only hiring for very specific needs right now (mainly AI).
It took going back for a top MBA for me to be able to pivot out of pub sec consulting work.
Rising Star
Is it a top MBA? I went to a T15, and I know my career office has aggressively helped some government people pivot recently.
Government sector is tough. I heard A&M is actually hiring since a friend of mine just joined. Obviously depends on your background and fit.
Thanks I'll look into them. I'm also looking into the Indian consulting companies as well
No, we just fired all our recruiters since we’re not hiring.
Not all of them....
A&M is hiring...best way to get an interview is through a referral rather than simply applying. Spend some time on here or LinkedIn and reach out to people employed at your target firms. Recruiters are bombarded after RIFs across the consulting industry. Invest time to network and make connections and you will reap the rewards and land in a firm that values your background and experience.
We have had multiple layoffs especially since our portfolio has significant federal contracting work. They’re also hyper critical of performance and cultivation rates currently and using these metrics to rationalize continuous workforce reductions
Specific skillsets are still in demand, particularly those related to data analytics, AI, and forensic accounting. Guidehouse also sells certain services that may be supported by technical skills that are either not readily available to support each project or would need to be externally hired. Voluntary attrition is also higher than it has been historically. These all make it appear that Guidehouse has an abundance of work for potential candidates but it comes with a number of caveats
Avoid Guidehouse

I did reach out to ICF, actually applied to a role, but my salary expectation did not match with the customer.
