Have you tried melatonin or CBD oil to help you sleep? I feel a lot less helpless/hopeless when I'm well rested.

When I'm truly dissatisfied with work, the only thing that helps is making a specific, time-bound plan to change the work entirely. Applying to jobs, looking into internal transfers, etc.

Build your life beyond work to create that balance. First step is to figure out your passion and interests like reading, art, workout..... anything - could be binge watching too! Then, try to maximise time on that and minimise time on meaningless crap.

Find a good fiction book to read

Focus on a few things that you can do outside. Gardening, walking,hiking, running. Just sitting on a park bench and watching nature might pick up your spirits and clear your mind.

About month ago I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease (CAD) and had to go through cardiac catheterization to get a stent.
I am in mid 30s and it's unbelievable that i have got this. Have been quite down mentally for last few weeks, and don't think if I can sustain the consulting life anymore.
I am working hard to stop the progression of disease and potentially reverse it. Hope things work out.

I think I’m depressed.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

My mood has been fluctuating so much lately. People on medication—is your medicine managed through a psychiatrist or your primary care dr? The psychiatrist is charging me $225 a session ($116 with insurance) vs I can see my primary dr for free (ie covered by insurance). Can she manage it ?
