Those of you in contracting or just in regular business (I don't know if this can happen without contracting too). Is it normal for your boss to just make you move to a different location or contract regardless of whether or not the person wants to? For example: my boss tried to have me moved to a different location and when I said I couldn't because I was unqualified, he tried to move my coworker on my team. He's trying to do so without regard for how it will mess up those that stay...

I am an hourly employee. Currently if there is a hospital call that needs to be done, someone will volunteer to do it for overtime. Now, my company wants to create a set call schedule. If we get a call at 5pm, when my shift ends, can I still be required to complete the call? I will be paid overtime but don’t like the fact they will force it upon us.

What is the quickest and most effective way y'all do your timesheets?

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

Which one to select

One thing I’ve been curious about is what makes a partner jump from one B4 to another? Is is the same reasons as everyone else (e.g: pay, politics,etc) ? I feel like people tell me not to leave at a director level because you’ll need to rebuild a network to help you get to partner, but wouldn’t direct entry partners experience something similar as they come over, like trying to get plugged into good deals vs. Crummy ones?
